Air Quality Permitting & Regulatory Specialist

Description Education Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Chemical or Civil Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Science/Health, Natural Resources, Meteorology, or related degree, from a 4-year accredited college or university.    Registration Professional registration for engineering disciplines preferred.   Technical Experience 5-15 years of demonstrated experience in the air quality field including Clean Air Act permitting, state and federal regulatory compliance evaluations, and/or dispersion modeling Previous experience with a consulting firm preferred. Industry experience with power generation and manufacturing a plus.   Key Job Elements In this role you will: Join a collaborative team that works hard together, celebrates successes, and holds each other accountable. Prepare and review written technical reports and air permit conditions. Communicate with clients and representatives of regulatory agencies to coordinate regulatory approvals. Offer technical guidance and training to staff. Develop and prepare proposals for environmental services, including: Defining scope of services, Preparing cost estimates and project schedules, Defining deliverables, and Preparing, delivering and discussing proposal documents with clients. Perform and review emissions calculations and regulatory analyses. Complete assignments independently. Develop and present project specific or technical presentations to clients or technical organizations and in-house staff.   Other Requirements Must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrated team-oriented approach to problem-solving, and have strong interpersonal skills for contact with clients and fellow engineers/technicians. Accuracy, dependability and strong organizational skills. Exceptional time management skills, ability to manage multiple assignments at any given time. Must hold a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at project sites as well as offices in Michigan and Ohio.   Work Environment / Physical Demands May be required to perform job duties in the field and office. Flexible hours are available upon pre-approval. Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.   Leadership and Project Management Experience At least 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring and leading junior staff Ability to organize technical material into comprehensive reports as well as perform QA/QC reviews on work product Project planning, budgeting, task delegation and management to ensure project is completed according to work plans Project administration, including invoicing and collections PMP certification a plus   Business Development Demonstrated ability to seek and establish new clients and build good business relationships with both new and current clients. Develop and maintain professional business relationships with targeted new clients. Conduct periodic site / client visits, project and business development meetings. Assist in developing business strategies and action plans for creating growth opportunities. Work with Business Development staff to bring new clients / business opportunities to the firm.   Work Authorization Authorized to work full-time in the U.S.A. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
