Lead Financial Analyst

The Lead Financial Analyst is responsible for leading the financial oversight of one or more business units. The Lead Financial Analyst works as a strategic business partner to manage costs and capital investments, maintains regular accounting records, develops plans related to operating budgets and business expenses, and compiles financial reports for cost audit/allocation purposes, all with the overall objective of increasing profitability of the business unit(s) through cost reduction and cost control. Position Responsibilities: Serve as primary liaison for finance and controlling topics between the reporting unit and the division. Lead communication of financial planning and analysis information to all levels of the organization. Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. Prepares reports which summarize and forecast business unit activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Lead the preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification. Provide timely status and progress reports of certain elements of the business unit's overall financial performance. Directs the control, track, and report capital and asset investment programs. Approves, tracks actual to budget to ensure program targets are met and ensure appropriate accounting treatment. Keep local management and division informed of financial status of business unit(s) and potential issues. Lead analysis of expense and balance sheet accounts to support operational efficiencies and budget achievement. Advise management on operational adjustments based on detailed financial analysis. Oversee cost reports in order to conduct appropriate financial analyses and to perform costing audits. Perform financial analysis of asset allocation with regards to space, equipment, and technological infrastructure utility at Work with business unit team to improve inventory accuracy and accounting methods. Communicate and educate other departments on the cost center spending and variances, change management tracking, and quoting. Ensure and improve internal controls based on Corporate Policy and Directives. Manage team performance by reviewing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implementing other metrics where applicable; measure ongoing performance. Assign, check work, track progress, enforce company policy, review performance, initiate Changes-In-Status, train and motivate employees, champion individual and team efforts, and aid in the development of professionals to achieve individual leadership and company goals and objectives. Identify organizational skill requirements, assess gaps in key skill areas, and recommend strategy to management to close the gaps and strengthen the organization and provide adequate succession planning. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance 8+ years of experience as a financial analyst, financial manager, or comparable position/experience Experience with budget and business planning Working knowledge of ad-hocfinancial analysis and the generation of monthly executive-level financialreports (e.g. profitability and forecasts) Proficient in Excel including Pivot Tables Proven organizational and project management abilities Strong problem solving and analytical skills Ability to work in an intercultural environment with international colleagues Ability to influence and engage personnel and management at multiple levels within internal and external organizations Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and personnel Strong intrapersonal and listening skills Preferred Skills and Experience: 5+ year of experience in the durable goods manufacturing industry (corporate or plant environment). Knowledge of plant accounting principles Basic knowledge of SAP German and/or Spanish language skills. req2150
