Design Engineering Supervisor

The Design Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of design engineers in the execution and direction of the on-time development of reliable torque converter designs. In addition to supporting internal departments to ensure business development, capacity and continuity the incumbent will also ensure new or modified products are able to be manufactured and meet customer specifications, while maintaining company standards. Position Responsibilities: Lead and direct a design engineering team in the execution of all design activities including concept work, customer prototypes, dynamometer and component tests, calculation and design of components for Torque Converters with ProE/Creo and other CAD/CAM software Ensure team meets objectives related to the design procedures and specifications established by division R&D. Evaluate design engineering operations, review work of personnel, enforce company rules, provide input on team performance, make strong recommendation to hire or fire, initiate and/or recommend Changes-In-Status and eliminate ordinary operating difficulties. Perform design engineering and related analysis as required to support internal and external customers. Ensure functionality of Torque Converters, fail-safe, and reliability, through design, calibration, and testing projects. Work with customers, suppliers, and internal departments such as sales, purchasing, and quality, on design issues for production and OEM applications (i.e. definition of specifications, release of deviations from technical side, etc.). Work with ZF engineering teams (program management, test, plant and resident) and departments within global R&D. Develop best practice guidelines based on product development strategies to improve performance and customer resolution methods and serve as the team liaison to internal prototype development and testing departments. Follow the design procedures and specifications established by the division R&D. Provide analytical guidance and technical expertise to design engineering team to define, design, and releaserequired revisions. Direct the release and maintenance of drawings and bills of material (BOMs). Support System and Design FMEA with engineering quality department. Ensure completion of all 8-Ds for design-development issues. Leads the definition, design, and release modifications to assemblies and components for existing base designs of torque converters. Participate in continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies. Ensure departmental compliance with all IATF 16949 policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills and Experience: B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) 8-10+ years of design engineering experience (includes co-op and internshipexperience) Working knowledge of technical aspects of applications engineering and product design/development (specifically within a powertrain and/or automotive context) Ability to work independently and lead staff, professionals with decisiveness and diplomacy Proficient with Microsoft Office software Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management Strong problem solving and analytical skills Good verbal and written communication skills Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated) English language competency Ability/willingness to travel (up to 20%) Preferred Skills and Experience: Master's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) 10+ years of experience as a product engineer or design engineer within a powertrain development and/or manufacturing environment (specifically within automotive industry) Knowledge of 5S and Six Sigma problem-solving methodology Experience with test automation (e.g. Automation Desk) IATF 16949 awareness training Experience in Automotive industry Spanish and/or German Language Skills. req2135

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
