Position Summary: The internal audit / risk specialist is a diverse opportunity which will provide the candidate with opportunities to participate in activities across North America with a potential for exposure to global initiatives.
Position Responsibilities
The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position, including but not limited to:
Enterprise Risk Management

  • Annual risk assessment at corporate offices and manufacturing locations
  • Coordinate risk reports and prioritization of risks with department managers
  • Establish risk mitigation plans with policy and control owners
  • Support the implementation of risk mitigation activities within the significant risk areas
  • Report to management on a regular basis
    Internal Audit
  • J-Sox audits at corporate offices and manufacturing locations
  • Corporate audits in the areas of operations, compliance and regulation
  • Other internal audits based on management requests
    Project Management
  • Correlate project tasks with the general business goals and objectives of the company
  • Resolve issues efficiently to avoid project delays
  • Multi-task with cross functional teams on projects with limited resources
    Other tasks and duties as assigned

    Required Skills and Abilities
    Essential Skills and Experience:
    2 to 5 years of experience exhibiting a progression in professional development
    Bi-lingual language skills (must be fluent in both English / Japanese)
    Strong analytical and inquisitive mindset with an eagerness to incorporate peripheral knowledge
    Ability to identify and remediate inconsistent data by understanding the drivers to determine the root cause
    Ability to identify and understand differences between accounting standards; IFRS and US GAAP
    Strong abilities in MS Excel (i.e. pivot tables, PowerPivot, PowerView)
    Willingness to partake in professional development opportunities through company and self-directed activities
    Project Management Experience
  • Ability to correlate project tasks with the general business goals and objectives of the company
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to resolve issues efficiently to avoid project delays
  • Ability to creatively multi-task with cross functional teams on projects with limited resources
    Teamwork/Leadership Skills
  • Willingness to listen and work with team members across the company to achieve corporate goals
  • Ability to develop issue resolution road maps to streamline the decision making process
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate project team communications to achieve optimal corporate decisions
    Beneficial Skills and Experience:
    Experience working with Oracle Enterprise Business Solution
    Experience within a public accounting firm (regional and higher) with a current CPA license is a plus
    Internal audit experience in a larger manufacturing environment is a plus
    Education/Training/Certifications
    Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance from an accredited university
    Work Environment Requirements
    Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment.
    Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).
    Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged.
    Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.
    Must be able to operate as an effective team member.
    Must be committed to a high standard of safety, and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.

    Attendance/Work Hour Requirements
    Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
    Must be willing and available to work a standard work day, plus other hours per day or week as are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
    Must be willing and available to work such weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

    Travel Requirements
    Approximately 20% - 25% with the ability to travel domestically and internationally
    Passport required
    Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
