Customs Supply Chain Specialist
Position Summary:The primary function of this position is to ensure customs compliance for all ZF facilities in accordance with regulations. This includes tariff classification, Free-Trade Agreement Management, Country of Origin determination, FTZ, Drawback, Reconciliation, CTPAT and recordkeeping review.
Position Responsibilities:
? Provide daily guidance to various business units and U.S. Customs in North America in the conduct of importation, exportation, reconciliation and drawback activities.
? Support sourcing/supply chain personnel in the areas of import and export shipping
? Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule
? Determine (HTSUS) Harmonize Tariff Schedule classifications for raw materials and finished goods, data is reported accurately and all appropriate duties, taxes and fees are paid in compliance with trade regulations
? Research and analyze products for qualification for free trade agreements (e.g. NAFTA, US-Chile, US-Korea).
? Collect and issue NAFTA Certificates; ensure plant compliance with NAFTA regulations.
? Review NAFTA Certificates that are issued by ZF Plants and Vendors
? Maintain and update NAFTA and Country of Origin data in Customs systems.
? Audit NAFTA certificates and communicate findings to all parties for compliance requirements.
? Handle all Country of Origin issues; handle NAFTA solicitations, qualification and record keeping.
? Manage the Customs systems and database; maintain NAFTA certificates and affidavits for plant.
? Provide support to FTZ compliancy by coordination with plants in developing, implementing and maintaining processes, process improvements, procedures, manuals and systems.
? Create and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) with ZF border brokers and suppliers.
? Respond to requests for information from the Customs Brokers.
? Manage, direct, and evaluate the performance of customs brokers and other customs related service providers.
? Provide support to business units in the areas of Customs Drawback and Reconciliation programs.
? Provide support to business units with Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and ISA / Trusted Trader programs
? Participate in continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts
? Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies
? Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience:
? Bachelor?s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
? 4-5+ years of experience with customs and/or supply chain-related projects
? Extensive background in tariff classification as well as country of origin issues
? Knowledge of US Customs regulations
? Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools ? particularly Access and Excel
? Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
? Proven ability to analyze and interpret data and supply chain-related processes
? Proven ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management
? Solid organization and time/project management skills
? Good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
? Knowledge of SAP
? Knowledge of MIC Customs Solutions software
? Customs Broker License
? Experience in the Automotive industry
? German and/or Spanish language skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
