Senior Accountant

Our client, a market leading employer, is looking to fill a Senior Accountant job at their Northville, MI office. The Senior Accountant will prepare financial statements and related analyses for an assigned group of entities to include month-end close and account reconciliations, preparing annual budgets and forecasts and provide support for internal and external audits.
Your job responsibilities:

  • Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements, ensuring accurate reporting of financial information, analyzing cash, receivables, payables, debt, equity, fixed assets, revenues and expenses.
  • Assists in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts and analysis of departmental budgets.
  • Prepares various balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.
  • Assists in preparation of the year-end financial reporting package.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as requested by management.
  • Provides assistance to management during review of financial statements
  • Performs financial projections and viability studies for new business ventures.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations
Your qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of three years of experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to develop, review and interpret financial information.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task and shift priorities base on the needs of the business
  • Above average computer skills including Excel, PeopleSoft, and Hyperion.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
