Lead Design Engineer

Trillium Technical currently has a direct opportunity available for a Lead Design Engineer in the Northville MI area!!
Responsibilities:
o Extensive experience working in 3D CAD - CATIA V5 preferable
o Ability to make concepts for quote and presentation
o Lead programs through prototype, DV testing, production tooling, PV testing to PPAP
o Comfortable assigning work to other group members
o Good communication skills, dealing with manufacturing, headquarters, customers etc
o Extensive knowledge of automotive connector design
o Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes relating to automotive connectors
o Familiar with all supporting documentation required for automotive product development (DFMEA, DVP&R)
o Knowledge of FEA an advantage
o Produces 2D drawing in accordance with company guidelines
o Be responsible for design, development from concept, through tooling, testing, and into production
o Liaise with customers, internal and external, act as an ambassador
o Travel when necessary for design reviews, customer meetings, etc.
o Perform all design calculations to ensure products are designed optimally
o Produces designs in accordance with TS procedures o 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering, production engineering, or physics
o 5-8 progressive engineering experience
o Experience using 3D CAD software Catia v5
o Extensive knowledge of design for injection molded components
